On Friday, February 28, 2025, HUDA Clinic organized The Happy Feet Event at Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (DRMM) -- Oasis Location, bringing essential healthcare and personal care services to residents in need.
We were honored to provide medical, dental, and podiatry care, along with healthcare navigation services in collaboration with Molina Healthcare and our dedicated Community Health Worker, Sade Glover. Personal grooming and haircuts were generously offered by Laura Rose and Gemma Bryant, ensuring residents not only received care but also a boost in confidence.
Understanding that clean socks are among the most requested items at homeless shelters, we partnered with Good Deeds Detroit to distribute Bombas socks to all residents, leaving extra pairs for future needs. Our friends at Molina further supported the community by providing vital Medicaid information and winter jackets to DRMM residents. Additionally, Detroit is My Home and Mercy USA supplied personal hygiene kits, promoting dignity and well-being for those we served.
In total, we provided care and support to over 130 individuals, and we look forward to expanding our efforts with upcoming collaborations at women's shelters.
